The purpose of the school

When you choose Maltiox Adventures, your journey doesn't end at the top of a volcano. By traveling with us, you're directly supporting Project 11 Kej, a community English school founded with the mission of empowering local tourism stakeholders—guides, porters, residents, and others—to lead their own development.

A Circle of Support and Dignity

At Project 11 Kej, we believe in the value of hard work. That's why classes are tuition-based for local students, fostering commitment and appreciation for learning. However, this "giving back to the community" model goes much further:

"Clean Community" Environmental Impact Program: The school is at the heart of our recycling initiative. We teach families how to transform waste into ecobricks. These materials are not only used for local construction, but students also receive credit toward their classes in exchange for their efforts in keeping our trails and villages clean.

Support for Local Artisans: We reward students' perseverance with regional treasures, such as jade and handicrafts, thus supporting the economy of neighboring towns.

How can you participate?

Responsible Tourism: When you book your tour with Maltiox, your adventure is already funding dreams, including the infrastructure and growth of this educational space.

Sponsor a Student: Interested tourists have the opportunity to sponsor a local student. Your contribution covers their classes and materials, allowing them access to an education that will open doors for them in the real world.

Volunteer: If you have a high level of English and are fluent in conversation, you can sign up as a volunteer in exchange for accommodation and a salary. You'll teach our students how to have real conversations with real foreigners and become part of the community in a unique experience.
